A New Angel in Heaven...

This morning at 4:28 am Mom passed away peacefully while I was holding her hand and stroking her head. She gave me the greatest gift that she could have and let me be there with her when she crossed the rainbow bridge to the other side. She is free of pain and suffering and at peace. She waited so long because she did not want to leave us -- I am sure of it.
Heaven is a better place now.

There will be a memorial service at her church, AMC, in the coming weeks. You can check here for more details at a later date.

Thanks to all of you for your unending support, love, and caring. She loved each of you in her own special way.

Jen, I just saw this site today (of all days!) through an email that Mary Beiro put out. I will pray for you and your mom's spirit. It sounds like you don't have any unfinished business with your mom. What a blessing for you both. Kim Estes Wright SMA '84

Jen,
I know you and your mom had a very long road and one of the toughest cross's of all to bear.
You both have been together throughout the best and the worst. I hope you find peace with yourself.
I firmly know God has a special place for your mother as she has touched so many of us all through you.
I pray you have the strength to place your pain in a peacful place and continue your life with joy, as you deserve.
Your continued journey does not have to be alone.

Your friend,

V

Jen, I was so sorry to hear the news about your mom. She was a great lady. Unique was a great place to work because your mom put her heart into the store, and the employees and customers knew it. She will be dearly missed by all. I will check the site for updates on the arrangements.

Jennifer,

Please accept my deepest condolences.

I had the great pleasure of working with your mom for the past 10 years as one of her reps. She was, by far, one of my favorite buyers and our appointments were always fun. I will miss her.

Please know that you and your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.

This blog is a true testament to a daughter's love. You have poured your heart out for the world to see, and it is an inspiration to the rest of us who have been keeping up with Ethel's journey. As I said earlier, my heart is with you during this difficult time. I know she didn't want to go, any more than you wanted her to. You knew it was time to say goodbye, and she held on long enough to know that you would be okay. That's the way mom's are - mine did the same. I know there is a big empty place in your heart right now. Fill it with warm memories, and whenever you smile, she will be right there smiling with you.

My partner, Randy and I sang in the choir with your mom on occasion, and we stopped by the store regularly to check on how she was doing. It brightened our hearts when she was able to come in to church. Even in her fragile state, she shed a bounty of light on us all. I still treasure the little gifts she gave the choir at Christmas time. It's that time of year again, and when I see them, I see the smile she had when she gave them to us, and I smile, too. I will always remember her kind, angelic face.

Blessings to you and your family, and we'll be there singing for her on the 13th.

With love in our hearts,
Mark and Randy from AMC

Jennifer and Brian,

What an honor to have known your Mom. My first job was at Unique and I learned so much from Ethel.

I'm so sorry Ethel has passed and you, Brian, and Jim had to watch and wait.

God has taken a special person, someone who touched many, many lives.

Ethel, I'm looking forward to meeting you again in Heaven.

Love and hugs,
Cheryl (Stephens) Painter
